Around a 8 hour ASO area custom tour. Begin your tour around the Mount Aso area, where you will explore the dramatic volcanic landscape that makes Aso one of the world’s largest calderas. Depending on volcanic activity and road conditions, visit Kusasenri Grassland, the Sunasenri volcanic area, scenic viewpoints around Mount Aso, and panoramic caldera roads.

At Kusasenri, your guide will explain how local people have maintained these grasslands through controlled burning (“Noyaki”), grazing culture, and coexistence with volcanic activity for centuries. This tour focuses on how volcanoes influence daily life in Aso, including agriculture, water, traditions, spirituality, disaster preparedness, and local identity.

For guests who would like additional activities, customize the day with optional experiences such as horse trekking at Kusasenri, short hiking routes to Mount Eboshi or other trails, or paragliding near Daikanbo.
