Overview

Banteay Srei is unique for its highly intricate, 3D carvings in a soft, pinkish sandstone, its relatively miniature size compared to other Angkor temples, and the fact that it was not commissioned by a king, but by a Brahman courtier. It is often called the “jewel of Khmer art” or the “Citadel of the Women” due to the delicate and detailed craftsmanship.

Kulen Mountain's uniqueness stems from its role as the birthplace of the Khmer Empire, its spiritual significance, and its combination of natural and archaeological wonders. It's the sacred site where King Jayavarman II declared independence in 802 AD, and it features waterfalls, ancient temple ruins, and the River of a Thousand Lingas.

Beng Mealea is its status as an “Indiana Jones” style “lost temple,” .
Beng Mealea is unique for its “Jungle Temple” appearance, with a layout similar to Angkor Wat but overgrown by the jungle, making it a more untamed and mysterious experience.
