What you can expect
Embark on a 9-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho Route. Traverse lush rainforests, moorlands, and alpine deserts, gradually ascending to the peak. Enjoy excellent opportunities for acclimatization, making it a preferred choice for a successful summit.
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Moshi. A guide will meet you to provide a trek briefing and check your gear. Afterward, you can relax and prepare for the adventure.
Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2650m)
Start your trek with a drive to the Londorossi Gate (2,100m), followed by a hike through the rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira I Camp (3600m)
The trail leads through grassy moorlands to Shira I Camp, where you’ll enjoy views of Kibo’s peak and the expansive Shira Plateau.
Day 4: Shira I Camp to Shira II Camp (3900m)
A short, scenic day with views of the northern ice fields and western slopes of Kibo. After a brief acclimatization walk, you’ll arrive at Shira II Camp.
Day 5: Shira II Camp to Barranco Camp (3900m)
Ascend to the Lava Tower at 4,600m for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp, nestled in a picturesque valley beneath the Western Breach and Barranco Wall.
Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4000m)
Climb the Barranco Wall, then continue to Karanga Camp at 4,000 meters, enjoying views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.
Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4640m)
This short ascent to Barafu Camp offers stunning panoramas of the mountain. Rest and prepare for the summit push.
Day 8: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5895m) then Mweka Camp (3100m)
Start your summit trek at midnight, reaching Uhuru Peak at dawn. Afterward, descend to Barafu for lunch, then continue to Mweka Camp for an overnight stay.
Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1630m)
Descend through the lush Mweka Forest to the Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate. Afterward, transfer back to your hotel in Moshi.
