What you can expect

Visit the home of the beloved fire goddess Pele at Kilauea, the most active volcano on our planet. This adventure hike visits the southern cliffs of the Halemaʻumaʻu lava lake starting from the cliffs of Puʻu Puaʻi.

Along our journey will be immersed in the unique culture of the Hawaiian islands through Hawaiian language, endemic plants, endemic animals, history, and spirituality that is interwoven into the living landscapes of Hawaiʻi. Throughout the hike we will be witness to the magic of Hawaiian ecosystems as life begins from the darkness of cooled lava flows.
