Day 1: Kigali – Kinunu Coffee Experience – Lake Kivu Sunset

Start with an early departure from Kigali toward the beautiful shores of Lake Kivu. Enjoy a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills and countryside before arriving at the Kinunu Coffee Washing Station.

Be welcomed and introduced to Rwanda’s coffee history. Walk through coffee plantations with local farmers and learn about the coffee harvesting, washing, drying, and roasting processes. Enjoy a traditional coffee tasting experience with fresh Rwandan coffee. Meet local community members and learn about daily rural life.

In the afternoon, have lunch with lake and countryside views. Continue exploring the Lake Kivu shoreline. Choose from optional activities like a boat ride, swimming, kayaking, or relaxing at the beach. In the evening, take in sunset views over Lake Kivu. Have dinner and stay overnight near the lake in Karongi or nearby accommodations.

Day 2: Lake Kivu Exploration – Islands & Return to Kigali

In the morning, have breakfast by the lake. Embark on a boat excursion to explore islands on Lake Kivu. Visit local fishing communities and enjoy optional birdwatching and photography opportunities.

In the afternoon, have a leisurely lunch near the lakeside. Enjoy short cultural interactions with local communities. Have some relaxation time before departure. In the evening, take a scenic drive back to Kigali, arriving in the evening.
