Activity itinerary

Qijin
  • 20m
Cijin Lighthouse, after the signing of Convention of Peking in 1860 during the Qing Dynasty rule, the Takau Harbor was opened to foreign traders in 1863. With increasing commercial shipping activities and a lack of a proper ship navigation system, the British engineers built a Chinese-style rectangular red-brick lighthouse at the top of Mount Ki-au, at the southern side of the harbor. During the Japanese rule, in line with the expansion of the harbor, the lighthouse was rebuilt in 1916 as part of the project. It underwent renovation in 1918 to what it looks like today. The base of the lighthouse building was rebuilt in Baroque style. In 1985, the lighthouse was designated a Historical Building and subsequently opened to the public.

Cihou Fort were first fortifications built in 1720 when Taiwan was ruled by the Manchu-lud Qing Empire of China. After the Japanese expedition in 1874, the Qing authorities constructed a modern fort, which in 1880 had new Armstrong's guns installed. It played no part in the Sino-French War; the fighting in Taiwan took place around Keelung and during blockade French ships did not approach the port.

Great Harbor Bridge
  • 30m
The Great Harbor Bridge next to the Pier-2 Art Center is the first horizontally rotating landscape bridge in Taiwan and the longest cross-harbor rotating bridge in Asia. It can complete horizontal rotation within 3 minutes. It opens and closes at 3 pm every day, and opens at 7 pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The bridge can be used by pedestrians and bicycles, connecting the Pier-2 Art Center and the Zhan-2 Warehouse, two popular attractions, and is currently the most fashionable tourist route. *Bridge rotation time: 3:00 pm every day
The Pier-2 Art Centre
  • 45m
Pier-2 Art Center in the north bank of Asia New Bay Area, where the Love River enters Kaohsiung Port, Pier-2 Center carriers Yancheng's past and serves as the founding highlight of Taiwan's Cultural and Creative Corridor. Pier-2 Art Center has since then rebuilt the cultural charm and lifestyle aesthetics of Kaohsiung as a port city. People keep gathering up in this place, bringing in much creativity. Performances and events which manifest Kaohsiung's characteristics are held, and they also show new ideas and faces. These are the foundations of Kaohsiung's cultural and creative industries. Endlessly energetic and enthusiastic, the center sees no limits for its competitiveness.
Hamasen Museum Of Taiwan Railway
  • 30m
Hamasen Railway Cultural Park was originally Kaohsiung Port Station. Kaohsiung's first railway station, and today has been transformed into the Takao Railway Museum. The railway has been preserved in its entirety; this is Taiwan's only century-old railway station whose railway is still usable. As well as the Museum, there is also an expansive green space, in which a dazzling bridge can be seen, rebuilt from a 38-year-old bridge. Extending from the Pier-2 Art Center to the Railway Culture Park, it has become a favorite of locals and foreign tourists alike.
