After picking your group up in a luxury SUV, we drive through downtown Juneau. We pass a few historical buildings as well as current pillars of state government: the Governor's Mansion and the state legislature.
Next, we will drive ten minutes north to pick up our bikes and helmets. After passing through a few blocks in a peaceful residential neighborhood, we ride along a nature trail with multiple scenic stops of the Mendenhall Glacier. Plenty of time to stop, explore and take photographs.
Third, we return our bikes and reboard the SUV. We stop at the Macaulay Salmon Hatchery. We learn all about the salmon's life cycle, explore a cylindrical aquarium and touch pools (indoors), and hopefully gaze at seals and sea lions near the salmon ladder (outside). The outside salmon ladder, where adults return to spawn, opens June 21.
Time permitting, we may visit the Alaskan whale statue, Tahku, at Overstreet Park, or the Treadwell Mine ruins at Sandy Beach, Douglas.
Finally, I drop you off where I picked you up (usually downtown).
