Seongsan Ilchulbong

Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak) Seongsan Ilchulbong, or Sunrise Peak, is a volcanic tuff cone on the eastern coast of Jeju Island, formed about 5,000 years ago by a hydrovolcanic eruption. Rising 180 meters above sea level, it is part of the Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous for its breathtaking sunrise views, the peak features a large crater surrounded by sharp, crown-like rock formations. A well-maintained trail leads to the summit in about 20–30 minutes, offering panoramic views of the ocean and coastline. It stands as one of Jeju’s most iconic natural landmarks.
