Isla Iguana is a nature reserve located 5 kilometers off the coast of Pedasi. This island has 13 hectares with white sand beaches that resemble the Caribbean, not the Pacific of Panama. Relax on the beach under your umbrella or swim in the crystal clear waters. This is a great place for snorkeling with over 40 hectares of coral reefs. You can see many types of colorful fish, corals, eels and turtles! If you are lucky you may spot dolphins. We also offer a humpback whale watching tour from late June through early October.
As the name suggests, Isla Iguana is full of iguanas. Although they are more visible in the summer when it is their mating season. The island also has many species of birds and a colony of frigate birds. There is a trail which takes visitors to the other side of the island to El Faro beach. You will be passing through a crater from a bomb from World War II, there is another one in the snorkeling area. The United States Army used the island as a practice site.
We have coolers, towels, beach chairs, water jars, glasses, umbrellas, floatation devices and snorkeling gear which can be included in your tour. We contact clients at the time of booking to ask which options they want, as we need to coordinate the logistics of transporting them to the beach. Clients MUST confirm what they need, since things will not be taken automatically.
