Step inside a plant-filled park to visit a museum that celebrates the craft of making dolls and teddy bears on this guided tour of ARTlandya in Icod de los Vinos. See for yourself why the private doll collection of a passionate Austrian couple is regarded as one of the best hidden gems in the Canaries.
Start your tour with a short walk through the garden lined with palm trees, citrus trees, and flowers, and enjoy a view of Mount Teide and the coast of Tenerife. Then, enter a typical stone house where a huge collection of dolls awaits you.
See hand-crafted dolls from different parts of the world on display. Learn how each doll is unique and varies in materials used, depending on the artist’s preferences and whims. Regardless of materials, it is the meticulous attention to detail that sets the dolls apart from others.
Walk through several exhibition rooms in different buildings of the museum to see over 400 dolls and teddy bears. In the former old finca house, see an exhibition with figures and teddies from several designers.
Set against a tropical paradise, the bucolic architecture of the finca stands out. Admire the stone walls, tiled roofing, and wooden additions that add a strong character to the place.
After the tour, you can relax on the terrace of the MuseumsBAR with a cup of coffee and cake or a glass of local wine (at your expense) with a view of the majestic Teide Volcano before you.
