What you can expect

  • Leave Hurghada behind and head into the desert for a cultural journey to Kharaz Malki Valley. This experience is designed for travelers looking for more than a standard safari ride, combining desert scenery, local storytelling, and a deeper understanding of the natural and cultural landscape of the Red Sea desert.

Your journey begins with a jeep safari from Hurghada toward Kharaz Malki. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the Hurghada desert, as well as the flora, fauna, and wider ecosystem that shape this distinctive environment. This interpretive part of the journey adds depth to the safari and connects travelers more closely to the land they are crossing.

Upon arrival in Kharaz Malki Valley, the experience shifts into a more personal cultural encounter. Guests are introduced to the atmosphere of the valley and the Bedouin way of life through storytelling and local interpretation, camel ride and offering a more meaningful perspective on the traditions and identity of the area.

One of the signature moments of the experience is a short guided ride in an authentic Volkswagen Beetle within the valley. This distinctive element adds character to the tour and creates a memorable way of discovering the landscape from a different angle.

The experience also includes a traditional Bedouin lunch prepared in an authentic style. The meal features mandi chicken, basmati rice, vegetables cooked in a Bedouin way, tahini salad, and seasonal fruits. After lunch and time in the valley, guests return to Hurghada with a deeper appreciation of the desert’s ecology, heritage, and living culture.

This experience is part of the TUI Colourful Cultures Egypt Project, which supports the visibility of local culture and community-based tourism experiences through more meaningful and responsible visitor engagement.
