We'll continue our journey to Yungay, a place full of history and culture. You'll learn about the moving story of the 1970 earthquake and how this town has reborn with strength and hope. You'll be amazed by the panoramic views and the friendliness of its people.
Finally, we'll arrive at the impressive Llanganuco Lagoon, where its turquoise waters reflect the majestic peaks of the mountain range. You'll have time to explore, take photos, and connect with nature.
ITINERARY:
From 9:00 to 9:30 am, we'll leave Huaraz for the Callejón de Huaylas. We'll visit the town of Carhuaz, where we'll taste homemade ice cream made with local fruits, and we'll also visit the church and the square.
We'll make a stop at the Campo Santo de Yungay, where we'll visit the city buried by the 1970 earthquake and climb up to the white Christ. Continuing with the tour, we'll visit the Llanganuco lagoon, which is located at 3850 meters above sea level. It's turquoise in color, surrounded by Quenuales forests, and flanked by the snow-capped Huanday, Yanapaccha, and Huascarán mountains. After visiting the Llanganuco lagoon, we'll head down for lunch at a local restaurant.
We'll make the last visit of our tour in the village of Taricá, where we'll see how clay-based crafts are made. We'll head back to the city of Huaraz at around 7:00 pm.
