Gaze at one of the world's largest bottle collections with more than 22,000 beer bottles. Upgrade your experience with on-site add-ons such as a beer tasting in the old storage cellars or a historical guided tour of the old brewery area and the mythical cellars.

Alternatively, taste a perfectly served draft beer fresh from the tap in the cozy Carlsberg Bar, followed by a visit to the majestic brewing horses in the stable. End your visit by feeling the presence of history in the lively Brewery Yard or enjoy the peaceful oasis in the Sculpture Garden.

Experience the secret Carlsberg cellars

J.C. Jacobsen had many reasons for locating his brewery on Valby Hill. The site offered both access to clean water and the possibility of digging deep cellars where the beer could be stored appropriately.
The historic beer cellars from 1847, therefore, take centre stage on this guided tour at Home of Carlsberg.

The tour begins with a glass of beer in hand and takes you past J.C. Jacobsen’s Villa before moving 14 metres underground. Although the cellars have since been restored, the historic atmosphere remains intact, offering a rare glimpse into the past work of the brewery's workers and the vital role the cellars played in the brewery's operation.

The cellars contain several fascinating rooms, each with its own story, historical artefacts, and dramatic anecdotes about family conflicts, the brewery's development, and the people behind the Carlsberg Brewery.

Entry to the exhibition must take place 2 hours before closing time.
Upon arrival an entry time for the Exhibition will be given to you. Please be aware that on busy days extended waiting time might occur.
Time slot for the Exploring Carlsberg guided tour must be selected when booking. If you choose the last tour you should go to through the exhibition before the tour.
As the tour takes place in the cellars, it is unfortunately not suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
