Discover the authentic culture of the Mekong Delta on this relaxed 2 day tour from Ho Chi Minh City. The itinerary focuses on real local life, peaceful waterways and an early visit to Cai Rang Floating Market, without shopping stops or staged activities.
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho – Ben Tre – Can Tho (Lunch)
Start your journey with a visit to Vinh Trang Pagoda, a temple known for its impressive blend of Vietnamese, Chinese and Khmer architecture. Continue to My Tho and board a traditional boat to explore quiet branches of the Mekong River. Enjoy a short sampan ride through small shaded canals and walk along a village path to learn about daily life in the Delta. Taste seasonal fruits and enjoy a Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant.
After exploring the Mekong Delta, head to Can Tho and settle into your hotel for the night.
If you selected the With Hotel package:
Your hotel in Can Tho will be arranged by us according to the category you selected (3/4/5*).
If you selected the No Hotel package:
You will check in to your own accommodation in Can Tho (hotel is not included).
After settling in, enjoy free time in the evening. You may explore Can Tho Night Market, stroll along the riverside promenade, walk around the main streets, or choose your own restaurant for dinner.
- Tip for No Hotel option: We recommend staying near Ninh Kieu Wharf, as it is convenient for the early pick-up and boat departure the next morning.
Day 2: Cai Rang Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City (Breakfast/Lunch)
Depart early to reach Cai Rang Floating Market before sunrise. This schedule ensures you see the market at its most active time while traders sell fresh produce directly from their boats.
Continue along small canals and visit a noodle making site where you can watch a simple demonstration of traditional rice noodle production. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Ho Chi Minh City. The tour ends in the late afternoon.
Please note: The itinerary may be adjusted slightly due to weather, traffic, or local conditions — but all key highlights and inclusions remain the same.
