In the heart of Parma, there is a veritable Baroque street, a route comprising monumental churches, ancient noble palaces and invaluable artistic treasures often overlooked by those who pass through the city center every day.
We will follow the ancient Strada San Michele, now Via Repubblica, one of the city's most important historical thoroughfares, along which numerous religious and aristocratic buildings were constructed or significantly remodeled between the 17th and 18th centuries.
We will enter some of the most fascinating churches along the route, including San Vitale, Santa Cristina, San Sepolcro and Sant'Antonio Abate, discovering their decorations, works of art, historical events and lesser-known details.
Along the way, we will also see the elegant facades of the grand palaces that tell the story of Parma's noble families and civic power, such as Palazzo Marchi and Palazzo Rangoni, now the seat of the Prefecture.
An itinerary through art and history, but also through interesting facts, personalities and little secrets, to rediscover one of Parma's busiest streets with completely new eyes.
