The Lakshmana Temple in Khajuraho is a stunning 10th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Vaikuntha Vishnu. Built by Chandela King Yashovarman between 930–950 CE, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned as one of the best-preserved examples and one of the earliest grand temples in the Khajuraho Group of Monuments of Nagara-style architecture. Houses an idol of Vaikuntha Vishnu, a three-headed, four-armed form of Lord Vishnu.

Kandariya Mahadev Temple

The Kandariya Mahadeva Temple is the largest, tallest, and most ornate Hindu temple in the Khajuraho Group of Monuments. Built around 1025–1050 CE by King Vidyadhara of the Chandela dynasty, this UNESCO World Heritage Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The name of the Temple translates to "the Great God of the Cave," referring to the inner sanctum. Adorned with over 800 to 900 intricate statues, including deities, celestial nymphs (apsaras), and famous expressive erotic carvings.

The Vishwanatha Temple in Khajuraho is a 10th-century Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Commissioned by Chandela king Dhanga and completed around 999–1002 CE, it is a key monument in the UNESCO World Heritage Western Group, famed for Nagara architecture and intricate stone carvings. Along with Kandariya Mahadeva and Lakshmana temples, it is considered one of the three grand temples in the town. Nandi Mandapa Features an intact separate pavilion facing the main entrance with a massive monolithic sculpture of Nandi the bull.

Devi Jagdamba Temple

Part of the Western Group of Temples and built between 1000 and 1025 CE, the temple is yet another masterpiece of the Chandela dynasty. Iconography on the doorway, lintel, and cardinal niches strongly indicates that the shrine was originally dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Over time, it transitioned into a place of worship for Goddess Parvati (Jagadambika) and sometimes associated with Goddess Kali. The inner sanctum houses a large, remarkably well-preserved black image of the Goddess, with most facial features and limbs intact.

Varaha Temple

Part of the Western Group of Temples is an ancient 10th-century shrine dedicated to Varaha, the Boar avatar (incarnation) of the Hindu God Vishnu. It is one of the oldest structures in the complex, houses a massive 2.6-meter-long and 1.7-meter-high statue of the boar carved out of a single piece of sandstone. he entire body of the boar is densely covered with miniature sculptures—over 650 individual figures—including the Navagrahas (nine planetary deities), Dikpalas (directional guardians), Saptarishis, and a delicate carving of Goddess Saraswati with her veena on the snout.

Nandi Temple

The Nandi Mandapa sits directly opposite the Vishwanath Temple in Western Group Complex is a small, open-pillared Hindu shrine dedicated to Nandi the sacred bull, the mount of Lord Shiva. Nandi Mandapa houses a massive, finely polished monolithic statue of Nandi, finely carved from a single block of stone, measuring about 2.2 meters long.

Parsvanath Temple

Built around 960 A.D. during the reign of the Chandela king Dhanga and originally dedicated to Adinatha, Parshvanatha Temple is one of the finest monuments of Khajuraho in the Eastern Group.

The Adinatha Temple in Eastern Group, is a late 11th-century Digambara Jain shrine dedicated to Lord Adinatha. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, it features a graceful curvilinear tower and intricate stone carvings of heavenly beauties alongside Hindu deities on its outer walls.

Vaman Temple

The Vamana Temple in Khajuraho, is a 11th-century Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu's dwarf incarnation. Built between 1050 and 1075 CE during the Chandela dynasty, it is a key part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Eastern Group of Monuments, known for fine carvings on outer wall.

Javari Temple

Part of the Eastern Group, this Temple was built on 11th century dedicated to Lord Vishnu, featuring a prominent carving of the navagraha (nine planets) over the sanctum doorway and a broken, headless main idol inside.

Dulhadev Temple

The Dulhadev Temple in the south side of Khajuraho, is a 12th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The name "Dulhadev" means Holy Bridegroom. Also known as Kunwar Math, it was built around 1130 AD during the Chandela dynasty and is famous as the final temple constructed during that era

Chaturbhuj Temple

The Chaturbhuj Temple, also called the Jatkari Temple, is a 12th-century Hindu shrine in Jatakara village, about 3 km south of Khajuraho. Built around 1100 CE by the Chandela dynasty, it is famous as the only major temple in Khajuraho without erotic carvings and houses a massive 2.7-meter tall four-armed Vishnu idol.
