    The notoriously flamboyant Henry VIII bought Hampton Court Palace in 1520 and began decorating it with fabulous tapestries and paintings. By the end of the 17th century, William III and Mary II added elegance and romance to the palace by commissioning beautiful, neighboring Baroque buildings.

    Today the remaining Tudor buildings are among the most important ones in existence. They are set in 60 acres of immaculate riverside gardens, next to the country's oldest hedge maze.

    With seasonal events taking place throughout the year, there's always something exciting to experience at Hampton Court Palace. The gardens and courtyards are transformed in the annual Tulip Festival, whilst visitors can experience a magical day out at the Festive Fayre and Winter Palace in December.
