Discover the Valsaín Mountains on a guided hiking experience that combines nature, history, and culture.
During the excursion, you'll walk among Scots pines, yews, hollies, and oaks, and you'll get to know the iconic Valsaín pine and the forest's inhabitants.
You'll cross small waterfalls and crystal-clear streams, while learning about the biodiversity, trenches, shelters, and secrets that this protected area of the Sierra de Guadarrama holds.
Enjoy this experience led by two official accredited tour guides:
Marina López (Tembo Tour), an environmental educator and interpreter, will help you identify the fauna, flora, and natural curiosities.
José Morauca, a historian specializing in the 20th century, will tell you about the events and traces of the past that are still preserved along the trails.
It's a circular route: we'll start at the Royal Sawmill of Valsaín, passing through iconic spots like Cerro del Puerco, Fuente del Ratón, and the National Environmental Education Center, all while enjoying unique views of the entire mountain range.
With 350 m of elevation gain and a 10 km route, it's an easy-medium level hike (for people used to mountain walking) and lasts about 5 hours, including stops to rest and eat.
Bring food and water, hiking poles if you use them, a raincoat or poncho… and, above all, enthusiasm and a desire to have fun.
Walking in the woods reduces stress, improves health, and strengthens group bonds.
A day to learn, enjoy, and see the landscape with fresh eyes.
