For our guests who love volcanoes, nature, cloud forests, trekking, and wildlife, we have created this unique option that takes you to 2 volcanoes in one day. In the morning, we head to Mombacho Volcano to hike through the forest and Crater #1, with its spectacular vantage points. On this tour, we can observe birds, monkeys, and coffee plantations, use a 4WD vehicle to reach the summit, and see red-eyed frogs, sloths, an endemic salamander, and orchids. In the afternoon, we'll head to one of Nicaragua's most active and famous volcanoes, Masaya Volcano, and its Santiago Crater. This experience includes a visit to the volcano museum and a hike to the fumaroles and Cerro Comalito to watch the sunset. As night falls, we'll climb up to the active crater to observe the lava or incandescence inside the crater.
