What you can expect

Leave the busy Gold Coast behind and join a guided kayaking and snorkelling tour to Wave Break Island, one of the region’s hidden gems. Paddle through the Broadwater with experienced local guides, spot marine life along the way, and explore a rocky reef home to subtropical fish. This relaxed adventure includes all gear, a delicious local snack, and free digital photos to remember it all.

Your experience begins in Biggera Waters, where you’ll meet the team at our van and trailer. We’ll get you fully equipped, run through a short safety briefing, and teach you the paddling basics. No experience needed, this tour is beginner-friendly and welcoming to all.

Launch into the estuarine waters and paddle past sandbanks, mangroves, and skyline views. Keep an eye out for stingrays, soldier crabs, and seabirds that often make an appearance.

After about 30 minutes, land on the northern side of Wave Break Island. Take a short bushwalk across the island to the snorkelling site, where your guide will share the unique story of this manmade island.

Then it’s time to snorkel or unwind, slip into the water and explore the reef, or relax on the sand while your guide shares marine facts and captures photos of your experience.

After snorkelling, enjoy a delicious locally sourced snack with a view of the water and city skyline. On the paddle home, stay alert for dolphins and other surprises that often appear when you least expect them.

We finish back onshore with smiles, stories, and plenty of salty hair. Whether it’s your first paddle or your hundredth, this is a fun, safe, and memorable way to experience the Gold Coast’s natural side.
