Enjoy a one-hour, self-guided petting zoo visit at Back-to-Eden Ranch in Gilroy, where you can wander at your own pace and spend quality time with a variety of friendly farm animals. This outdoor, working ranch experience is designed for animal lovers of all ages and takes place rain or shine.

As you explore, stop by the goats and see who’s ready to come say hello. Visit the cows and try feeding them—then feel the surprising texture of their tongues as they take food from your hand. Make time for the geese, including the ranch’s notable “Good Boy,” and continue on to see a colorful variety of chickens and hear the roosters crow. Watch ducks swim and frolic, meet the bunnies as they hop around, and visit the ranch’s gentle alpacas (and keep an eye out for a lucky “kiss”).

You may also spot the ranch cats if they feel like being social, and you can say hello to the Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs. Depending on the season, you might encounter baby animals such as baby chicks, baby calves, or baby goats when available.
