What you can expect

  • We gathered in front of the antique Fuwen Temple, the eaves were flying, and the tour guide had prepared a wonderful story waiting to accompany us. Walking through the smoky Houcheng Street, the bluestone pavement tells the story of the past, the traditional snacks on the street are enticing, and you can occasionally catch a glimpse of the attentive figure of the craftsman. Stroll along the stone paved path to the Ching Ching Mosque, an ancient Islamic structure with exotic domes and arches that whisper a long song of culture spanning millennia.

Leaving the Qingjing Temple, we stepped into the bustling Tumen Street, where there were many shops and hawkers. When passing by the former Ceylonese expatriate site, through the mottled walls, you can vaguely imagine the lively scene of Ceylonese merchants living here. Not far away, the red-walled and blue-tiled Guan Yue Temple has come into view, and before we get closer, we can feel the solemnity of the incense around, and we are about to step into this temple that carries faith and history, and explore the legendary story of Guan Gong and King Yue.
