What you can expect

After picking up our Guests ,from the agreed meeting points , the first stop , Pico dos Barcelos , affords one a 360° view over beautiful Funchal. Moving on , after approximately 15 minutes, we are driven to Eira do Serrado , situated at 1094 metres altitude, after having viewed green valleys and ravines , along the way. It is here that you will be afforded an opportunity, to do an easy short stroll, along a well guarded mountain path , to a breathtaking view point, overlooking the Nuns Valley village , known as Curral das Freiras . After 35 minutes at Eira do Serrado , we are driven down to Curral das Feiras , where the Nuns , from Funchal , sought refuge , over the centuries , from marauding Pirates, from the year 1566 and onwards. In the centre of the village , the brightly coloured interior of the small church is interesting. Curral das Freiras is also known for it's cuisine , based on the valley's sweet chestnuts , including traditional soups, main courses, deserts, liquors, cakes, cheesecakes and Chestnut beer. After 45 minutes , the bus leaves to go back to Funchal .
