Shifen Waterfall is a stunning natural attraction located in the Pingxi District of New Taipei City, Taiwan. Shifen Waterfall is a horseshoe-shaped cascade that spans a width of around 40 meters (131 feet) and plunges approximately 20 meters (66 feet) into the Keelung River below. The train station located down the river from the waterfall area, originally built for transporting coal, was built right alongside the Shifen Old Streets. Shifen Station is one of the oldest railway stations in Taiwan, dating back to the Japanese colonial era. One of the most distinctive features of Shifen Station is its railway tracks lined with colorful lanterns. Visitors often write their wishes or messages on these lanterns before releasing them into the sky, creating a mesmerizing display, especially during the Pingxi Lantern Festival.
