Pick up from hotel at 3:00 am. Transfer by 4x4 for 2 hours to the banks of the Tambopata River. Boat ride to explore the jungle and observe animals in their natural habitat: amphibians, mammals, reptiles and insects.
Departure at 4:30 am to the CHUNCHO COLLPA, the largest macaw clay lick in the world, in a 1:30 hour boat trip. On the way, we spot ronsocos, sachavacas and the occasional South American jaguar.
At the macaw clay lick, hundreds of parrots of various species congregate to consume clay from the wall by the river.
Return to Puerto Maldonado around 12:00 pm.
