What you can expect

  • Tour the stunning Cape Bon on a full-day trip from Tunis. Marvel at the pottery traditions of Nabeul, explore the fishing village of Kelibia, and see the beautiful Punic jewelry in a museum in Kerkouane.

After pickup from your hotel, start with a visit to the Archeological Museum of Nabeul, known as Neapolis in ancient times. Admire colorful pottery and the bustling weekly market (Friday mornings). Tour local ceramics manufacturers and marvel at the massive kilns.

Arrive at the quiet fishing town of Kelibia, surviving primarily on its fishing fleet surrounding farmland. Visit the fabulous old fort overlooking the harbor, which boasts nearly 2500 years of history within its walls.

Continue to Kerkouane and visit its small museum, which displays beautiful Punic jewelry made of gold and other precious metals, as well as other artifacts. Kerkouane is the first Carthaginian site in Tunisia to produce more than a few funerary objects.

Discover how sandstone blocks were quarried along the length of the coast to build Carthage and other nearby Roman towns during the Roman era. Then, visit the interconnected and picturesque Haouaria caves.
