What you can expect

Discover the extraordinary biodiversity of northern Peru on a full-day excursion to the Cerros de Amotape National Park, one of the most important protected natural areas in the country.

The adventure begins with a departure from Tumbes towards the Angostura gorge, the main access point to the park. From here, you'll continue on to the Quebrada Alambique, where you'll begin a hike surrounded by the characteristic landscapes of the equatorial dry forest.

During the tour, you'll be able to observe a wide variety of flora and fauna species that inhabit this unique ecosystem. The park is home to mammals, birds, reptiles, and significant plant diversity, including trees that reach up to 30 meters in height.

As you walk along the nature trails, you'll enjoy landscapes made up of ravines, forests, and small waterways that contrast with the region's characteristic dry environment.

The hike culminates at the Huarapal ravine, a beautiful natural spot where a pool of crystal-clear water is formed. Here you'll have time to relax, enjoy the surroundings, and cool off with a swim surrounded by nature.

Afterwards, you'll head to the town of Cabuyal to enjoy lunch before starting the return trip.

This experience is ideal for travelers who want to discover the natural richness of Tumbes, go on gentle hikes, and enjoy little-explored landscapes in the company of the biodiversity characteristic of the equatorial dry forest.
