Begin your journey with Chebika, an oasis village famous for its dramatic mountains and waterfalls. Continue to Tamerza, the largest mountain oasis, with stunning canyon views, before heading to Mides, whose deep gorges served as a backdrop for The English Patient and also as the iconic “Star Wars Canyon,” where nine scenes were filmed, including the Jawa ambush and Tusken Raider sequences.
Next, visit Sidi Bouhlel, another cinematic canyon known as “Star Wars Canyon II,” used in A New Hope.
From there, travel to Ong Jemel (“the Neck of the Camel”), where Darth Maul arrives on Tatooine and releases his Sith probes. Continue to the Camel Neck cliffs, seen in The Phantom Menace.
Then head to the Mos Espa set near Nefta, beautifully preserved in the Sahara dunes. Explore the Pod-racing arena, Mos Espa streets, Watto’s shop, and Sebulba’s Café. Just east of the set, discover the Yardangs, where Qui-Gon fought Darth Maul and where the Queen’s Royal Starship scenes were filmed.
Conclude with the Lars Homestead exterior on the Chott El Jerid salt flat—the only tour that takes you there. This location was used in A New Hope, Attack of the Clones, and the final shot of Revenge of the Sith.
