What you can expect
Start your unforgettable journey from Tbilisi at 9:00 AM and discover some of Georgia’s most important historical, cultural, and religious landmarks in one day.
Jvari Monastery
Our first stop is the beautiful Jvari Monastery, located on a hill overlooking the ancient city of Mtskheta. From here, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. The monastery is one of Georgia’s most important religious and historical monuments.
Mtskheta & Svetitskhoveli Cathedral
Continue to Mtskheta, one of the oldest cities in Georgia and the country’s ancient capital. Explore the charming historic streets and discover the city’s rich Christian heritage.
We then visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of Georgia’s most significant religious monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admire its impressive medieval architecture and learn about the fascinating history and traditions connected with this sacred place.
Gori & Joseph Stalin Museum
Our journey continues to Gori, a historic city in central Georgia and the birthplace of Joseph Stalin. Here, you can visit the Joseph Stalin Museum, which presents exhibitions about his life, childhood, and political career. The museum complex also includes his childhood home and a railway carriage associated with him.
Uplistsikhe Cave Town
The final major stop is Uplistsikhe, one of Georgia’s most remarkable ancient archaeological sites. This spectacular rock-hewn town dates back thousands of years and was carved directly into the cliffs. Walk through its ancient caves, tunnels, halls, streets, and religious structures while discovering how people once lived in this unique settlement.
After exploring Uplistsikhe, we begin our return journey to Tbilisi, where the tour ends.
This one-day tour is an excellent combination of Georgia’s ancient history, religious heritage, culture, architecture, and breathtaking landscapes, making it perfect for travelers who want to experience several of the country’s most important landmarks in a single day.
