Day 1: Samarkand to Nukus and City Exploration
Start early for your long-distance journey to Nukus by flight (recommended) or train and road transfer. Arrive in Nukus and check in to your hotel. Refresh and relax before heading out to explore.
Visit the Savitsky Museum, one of the most unique art museums in the world, famous for its collection of Russian avant-garde and Karakalpak art. Then, explore the city center, walking through Soviet-era streets, government buildings, and local markets.
Experience daily life at a local bazaar and shop for handicrafts, textiles, and local products. Finish your day with a dinner at a local restaurant, enjoying traditional Karakalpak or Uzbek cuisine.
Day 2: Cultural Sites and Return
After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Karakalpakstan Museum of History to learn about the history, culture, and heritage of the Karakalpak people.
Then, take an optional trip to the Aral Sea region, visiting nearby viewpoints showcasing the dramatic landscape changes of the area (subject to time and road conditions).
Check out of your hotel and begin your return trip to Samarkand by flight or train and transfer.
