What you can expect

Explore one of the wonders of Puno with a tour of the Uros and Taquile Islands on Lake Titicaca. Learn about the floating islands of the lake and the life of the people who live on the highest lake in the world.

Start your tour with pickup from your hotel in Puno or the bus station. Head to the pier or the main port to begin your adventure. Set off at 7:30 AM and travel to the floating islands of the Uros, which are currently considered a National Reserve of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.

Learn about the Uros people, who still maintain their own culture and traditions, as well as about artisanal fishing, especially of carachi and pejerrey. Observe some of the 75 islands that are inhabited today.

Sail by boat for 2.5 hours to the natural island of Taquile. During the journey, admire the chain of mountains. Learn more about the people of Taquile and their famous textiles.

Enjoy approximately 2 hours to explore the island and a delicious typical meal for 1 hour by the lake, before returning to the bus station or your accommodation.
