Day 2: Uyuni - Salar de Uyuni
We will commence our journey with a pickup from the bus terminal in Uyuni city.
Following this, we'll transfer to our cafeteria where you can enjoy a delightful breakfast.
After breakfast, we'll pick you up from the cafeteria to begin the excursion at 10:30 am.
Our first stop will be the train cemetery, followed by a visit to the Colchani community, which serves as the gateway to the Salar. Here, you'll find charming rustic craft workshops and witness the salt processing at the rustic table salt microprocessor.
Continuing our expedition to the breathtaking Uyuni Salt Flats, we'll make stops to observe salt extraction, the salt flat's natural formations known as the “eyes of the salt flat,” and the Playa Blanca Salt Hotel, now functioning solely as a museum.
Next, we'll visit the renowned Incahuasi Island, the most popular island within the salt flats. Here, you'll stroll amidst vast expanses of cacti, observe marine rock fossils, and enjoy spectacular 360° panoramic views from the island's viewpoint.
Wrapping up our tour, we'll head back to the city of Uyuni, marking the end of our services for the Salar de Uyuni excursion from Puno.
