What you can expect

On the boat ride, you will enjoy one of the wonders of the world, Lake Atitlán, and its three majestic volcanoes. In the first picturesque village, you will see how women work every day, weaving and decorating their Mayan clothing using various plants and insects to color their cotton thread. You will also learn about and taste the three types of honey produced by stingless bees, and discover the benefits and importance of cocoa or chocolate. The second village is ideal for taking photos and videos or enjoying a delicious cup of coffee. The last village, located between the three volcanoes, is very authentic and the largest of all the villages around the lake. As you stroll along its arts and crafts street, you will learn about its Mayan deity Maximón and its syncretic Mayan and Catholic religion, as well as one of its ancient churches. You will also learn about its art, which reflects the importance of corn, coffee harvesting, and other topics. Finally, we will have time for lunch, featuring various types of traditional Guatemalan food and, best of all, fish from Lake Atitlán.
