What you can expect

  • Leave Ollantaytambo and discover a different side of the Sacred Valley on an ATV adventure combining Andean landscapes, the famous Maras Salt Mines, and the peaceful shores of Huaypo Lake.
Begin with pickup from Ollantaytambo and travel by vehicle to the ATV base. Meet your guide, receive safety instructions, and enjoy a short practice session before starting your ride.
Travel through open countryside surrounded by farmland, mountains, and traditional Andean landscapes.
Visit the Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of salt pools cover the mountainside. Learn about the traditional salt-harvesting process and enjoy time for photos.
Continue the experience toward Huaypo Lake, a peaceful high-Andean lagoon surrounded by fields and mountain scenery. Stop to enjoy the views, take photos, and experience a quieter side of the Sacred Valley.
After completing the route, return to the ATV base and take the transportation back to Ollantaytambo.
Guests looking for a more complete experience can choose the private option, which also includes a visit to the archaeological terraces of Moray.
