Your journey begins early in the morning as you leave Marrakech behind and head south toward the High Atlas Mountains in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. The final major highlight of the day is a visit to Kasbah Taourirt, located in central Ouarzazate. Once the power base of the influential El Glaoui family during the 19th and early 20th centuries, this historic mud-brick fortress features intricate geometric decorations, high towers, and a complex maze of inner chambers and courtyards.
