Step away from the busy coastal attractions and discover one of the lesser-known hiking routes above Brela. Begin your experience near Brela, where you will follow part of the historic Napoleon’s Road, an old mountain route dating from the period of French rule in Dalmatia.
Walking along this historic path, your local mountain guide will share stories about the road, the landscape, and the traditional life of the villages beneath Biokovo.
The trail gradually leads towards Nevistina Stina, a dramatic mountain pass surrounded by some of the most beautiful views of the central Dalmatian coast. Here, hear the local legend connected with Nevistina Stina and have time to enjoy the panoramic scenery stretching across Brela, the Makarska Riviera, and the Adriatic islands.
For those who want to continue, the hike can be extended to Šuplja Stina (Hollow Rock), a remarkable natural rock formation shaped by the forces of nature. This additional section takes around 30 minutes of walking and adds another unique highlight to the experience.
This is not a race or a demanding mountain expedition. The pace is relaxed, with plenty of time for photographs, enjoying the scenery, and learning about the history, legends, and nature of Biokovo.
