What you can expect
Why don't you make a one-day trip from Kyoto to Ninja's hometown Koka City?
Koka City is home of Ninja.
Koka is a quiet, peaceful and beautiful rural town, and the best to go with a bicycle.
You will feel the atmosphere of Ninja while riding through the heartland of Ninja.
We will visit all three Ninja facilities of Koka, and learn the Ninja's history and their way of life.
You will find many Ninja tools, weapons, devices and the tricks that Ninja developed.
And also, we will visit one of the real Twin Castles that Ninja used.
There is no tour to visit real Ninja places guided by a Ninja/local Samurai descendant who can speak English.
You can experience a very unique tour from this.
Meet up at JR Konan station in Koka City at 9:35am.
Koka Ninja House
—The only existing real Ninja House with many tricks inside such as revolving door, hidden second floor, escape tunnel, too heavy sliding door, etc. You can throw Shuriken there if you want.
Ninja Center
—Many displays of Ninja weapons, clothes, papers, etc. Closed on Mondays.
Murasame & Jizen Twin Castles
—Nation's Historic Site. Hidden in the woods. Older than 1560s.
Ninja-themed Restaurant for Lunch
—Many selection of dishes. On the second floor, there is a display room of Ninja with good view. Nice sourvenir shop is attached.
Guide's house
—A typical Japanese house. We'll make coffee by Ninja's medicine making method. The guide's wife will write your name in Japanese katakana characters on a scroll for your sourvenir.
Koka Ninja Village
—Ninja's theme park. Ninja's trick house, Ninja training, etc. Closed on Mondays.
JR Koka station
—Ninja's 3-D trick art drawings on the station walls. Enjoy photo taking.
Tour ends at JR Koka station.
On Mondays, Ninja Village and Ninja Center are closed. So if you book this tour on Monday, I will customize this tour for you.
On a rainy day, I have an alternative plan.
The itinerary can be customized according to your preference and the weather condition.
