What you can expect

Day 1: Kathmandu to Sundarijal (1,460m) and Trek to Chisapani (2,165m) (1-hour drive & 5–6-hour hike)

Get picked up from your hotel in Kathmandu and drive to Sundarijal, the starting point of your trek. From here, the trail gradually ascends alongside the large water pipeline from the Sundarijal Reservoir.

While entering the serene Shivapuri National Park, pass through Mulkharka and traditional Tamang villages, where you will experience local culture and forested landscapes along the way. The trek continues uphill until you reach Chisapani, where you can relax and enjoy stunning sunset views of distant Himalayan peaks, including the Langtang range. Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 2: Chisapani to Nagarkot (2,175m) via Chauki Bhanjyang (6–7-hour hike)

After breakfast, continue your trek through dense, green forests, gradually descending toward Jhule and Chauki Bhanjyang. The path winds through terraced fields and quiet villages offering a glimpse of traditional rural life. From Kattike Bhanjyang, begin a gentle uphill climb to Nagarkot. Upon arrival, take in panoramic views of the Langtang range and surrounding Himalayan peaks. Overnight stay at a hotel or lodge.

Day 3: Sunrise at Nagarkot, Trek to Changu Narayan (1,541m) and Return to Kathmandu (3–4-hour hike & 1-hour drive)

Wake up early to catch a breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayas from Nagarkot. After breakfast, descend along the trail via Telkot toward Changu Narayan, enjoying sweeping views of Bhaktapur and the Kathmandu Valley. Explore the ancient Changu Narayan Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After the visit, meet your vehicle for the drive back to Kathmandu and get dropped off at your hotel.
