What you can expect
The Mardi Himal Trek, offers a unique and serene journey near the majestic South Face of Machhapuchare, or Fish Tail Peak, in the Annapurna region. Known as ‘The Other Sanctuary,’ this trek provides a distinct experience compared to other Annapurna routes. It takes you through untouched trails, leaving behind main trekking paths, and leads to the remote and pristine corners of the Himalayas. Starting from the lush, warm lowlands, the trek ascends through dense rhododendron and pine forests, eventually reaching the alpine landscapes of Mardi Himal.
Trekkers are rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of the Annapurna range, including close-up views of Machhapuchare and Mardi Himal, which stands at 5,587 meters. The trek is considered safe from altitude sickness, making it accessible for all trekking enthusiasts. The journey begins in Pokhara, famous for its tranquil Phewa Lake, and includes a scenic drive to the trailhead. It concludes in the charming lowland village of Siding, with a return to Pokhara.
This adventure blends natural beauty, cultural encounters, and serene trails. Along the way, trekkers can enjoy diverse landscapes, from forested paths to high ridges, all while surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks. It’s an ideal trek for those seeking tranquility and unspoiled Himalayan vistas.
