What you can expect
Day 1 - Huacachina - Flight over the Nazca Lines - Bus to Arequipa
7:00 AM: Our experiences team will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the Maria Reiche Nazca Aerodrome, where our pilots and co-pilots will be waiting for you to board a Cessna light aircraft. The flight will last 35 minutes, and you will enjoy one of the most unforgettable experiences of your adventure. You will see the monkey, the spider, the condor, the hummingbird, the tree, the hands, the astronaut, the lizard, the pelican, and more. We will explore the Chauchilla cemetery, where mummies lie in their tombs covered with textiles and ceramics. We will tour the Cantalloc aqueducts and learn how the engineers of the Nazca civilization built irrigation systems that are still used by farmers today.
- At 10:00 pm, we will board a luxury semi-sleeper bus, featuring seats that recline to 160° and equipped with heating, for our journey to Arequipa. During the journey, you can sleep and wake up in the city of Arequipa at 8:00 a.m.
Day 2 – Arequipa – City Tour
8:00 AM: Arrival in Arequipa, early check-in, and time to rest.
At 2:00 pm, we will explore the city of Arequipa. We will visit the Santa Catalina Convent, considered a jewel of colonial architecture and one of the most important convents in the city, which stands out for its Spanish and Andean colonial-style walls painted in bright blue, red, and white. We will visit the Juanita Mummy Museum, which is very important because it is dedicated to Inca culture and ritual sacrifices on volcanoes. We will explore the San Camilo Market, Arequipa's most traditional and important market, a place brimming with flavors, local culture, and culinary delights.
Day 3 – Chivay-Cruz del Cóndor-Cabanaconde-Llahuar
3:00 am: We will travel to Chivay for breakfast and visit the Cruz del Condor viewpoint to observe condors in flight as they emerge from one of the deepest canyons in the world. Next stop is Cabanaconde, the starting point for the trek to Llahuar. We will descend into the Colca Canyon and stop at the Achachihua viewpoint to get a view of the trail that will take us to the Pacclla Geyser. After a 3-hour hike, we will arrive at the Llahuar lodge, which overlooks the Colca River and thermal spring pools. We will enjoy lunch and the hot spring pool.
Day 4: Llahuar – Malata – San Galle Oasis
At 9:00 am, we will climb 700 meters (2,300 feet) uphill to the Apacheta viewpoint, where we will take a break to enjoy the view of the landscape and the route we will continue along to the San Galle Oasis. Upon arrival, we will enjoy lunch with beautiful views of the green landscape surrounding our lodging. We can enjoy the pool for the rest of the afternoon.
Day 5: San Galle Oasis – Cabanaconde – Chivay – Bus to Puno
At 5:00 am, we will begin our 3-hour ascent to reach the town of Cabanaconde, where we can have breakfast and then board our bus to Chivay.
Chivay. We will have free time for lunch and then board the tourist bus bound for Puno (1:00 pm), arriving in Puno at 6:00 pm. End of the experience.
