What you can expect

Begin your 8-hour tour with a scenic drive from Cape Town to the heart of the South African Winelands on the way to visit 3 wine estates in Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschhhoek.

The first stop is in Stellenbosch, the second-oldest town in South Africa and home to some of the world's finest wines, with a history of wine producing dating back to the 17th century. Visit a wine estate for a cellar tour accompanied by a wine and cheese tasting.

After a drive through the town you’ll take an hour-long walk along historic Dorp Street, known for its well-preserved examples of classic Cape Dutch and British architectural themes, and then Church Street, where you can do a bit of shipping or enjoy lunch at one of the many pavement cafés.

The tour proceeds to Paarl, the largest town in the Cape Winelands. Visit one of the region’s renowned wine estates for a wine tasting. You’ll also make a short stop at the bronze statue of Nelson Mandela located outside Drakenstein Correctional Centre, the prison from which Mandela was released and made his famous walk to freedom.

Drive to Franschhoek, a town that dates back to 1688. The town has a strong French influence with many of its wine farms and businesses named after regions in France from which the Huguenot refugee settlers originated. Many of the wine estates still maintain their original thatched and gabled Cape Dutch homesteads, and have grown into world-renowned wineries.

Visit a wine estate and indulge in a wine and cheese tasting. Described by many as the food and wine capital of South Africa, the town’s ideal weather, architectural beauty, and huge variety of culinary offerings have made it a popular tourist destination.

Enjoy a tour of the town and marvel at the many art galleries, antique shops, and award-winning restaurants.

You’ll also have the option of visiting the French Huguenot Monument situated at the end of the town. The tour ends with a visually pleasing drive back to Cape Town.
