Start your day with a scenic drive from Bucharest towards the Carpathian Mountains, following part of the famous Transfagarasan Road.

The first stop is Curtea de Argeș, a historic town known for its impressive monastery. Visit the Curtea de Argeș Monastery, famous for its beautiful architecture and the legend of Master Manole. The monastery is also the burial place of several Romanian kings and queens.

Continue to Poienari Fortress, the real stronghold of Vlad the Impaler, often associated with the Dracula legend. After climbing the 1,480 steps to the fortress, you will be rewarded with spectacular views over the surrounding mountains and fascinating stories about Vlad the Impaler.

Next, stop at Vidraru Dam, an impressive engineering project built in the 1960s. Here you can enjoy beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding mountains while taking memorable photos.

Along the mountain road, there is sometimes a chance to spot wild bears from a safe distance. The road then climbs high into the Făgăraș Mountains, reaching spectacular viewpoints where you can enjoy the alpine scenery. In winter, this area offers the chance for a short walk in the snow and a warm drink at a mountain lodge.

During the summer season, when the Transfagarasan Road is fully open, the tour may also include a stop at Balea Lake, a stunning glacial lake located at over 2,000 meters altitude.

After a full day exploring history, legends, and breathtaking mountain landscapes, relax on the drive back to Bucharest, arriving in the evening.
