Our first stop is the authentic Nemocón Salt Mine. Here, we'll descend 80 meters to discover a universe of salt, a masterpiece of mining and engineering that has achieved masterworks, even being the filming location for the well-known movie The 33. You'll walk through tunnels and be surprised by the salt crystals hanging from the ceiling, contemplating the impressive “Mirror of Water,” an underground lake that will remind you that the traditional can be surprisingly different.
Next, we'll head to the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, the “First Wonder of Colombia.” At 180 meters underground, you'll enter a work of engineering and devotion that is unique in the world. You'll walk through the 14 stations of the Way of the Cross, carved into the salt rock, until you reach the Cathedral's immense dome. You'll learn how this monumental work was built by miners, as we explain the meaning of each corner, where faith and art merge in a way that inspires you to start a new journey.
