On the Full-Day Colca Canyon Tour with Transfer to Puno, you'll enjoy an intense and comprehensive experience that combines nature, culture, and adventure in the southern Andes. We depart from Arequipa in the early morning to encounter condors in their natural habitat, enjoy the thermal springs, and end the day in Puno, on the shores of majestic Lake Titicaca.

From Arequipa to the heart of the Colca
Your adventure begins between 2:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., when our guide picks you up from your hotel. On the way to Chivay, the starry sky accompanies us for the first few kilometers of the route as we pass through highland landscapes. Upon arriving at the village, you will enjoy a typical Andean breakfast, featuring coca tea and local products to help you acclimatize. From there, we continue to the Mirador Cruz del Condor, the most famous viewpoint in the valley. Watching the Andean condor soar over the vastness of the canyon is a magical experience that no traveler forgets.
If you wish, you can take an optional hike from the Cross of the Priest to the Cross of the Condor.

Andean villages, viewpoints, and hot springs
After visiting the viewpoint, we will tour several natural viewpoints and the pre-Inca agricultural terraces in the valley. We will pass through traditional villages such as Maca, where life unfolds amidst colonial churches, craft markets, and enduring customs, such as the Wititi dance, which has been declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Here, you can sample Colca Sour, a drink made from the Sancayo fruit. Continuing on, we will make additional stops at several viewpoints along the way, including the Wayrapunku Viewpoint, where we will see the end of the valley and the beginning of the Colca Canyon; the Choquetico Viewpoint, where we will observe the hanging tombs and the stone models; and the Antahuilque Viewpoint, from which we will be able to see the entire andenería of the valley and the Mysterious Lagoons.

Next, we will visit Yanque, where you will have the option to relax in the Chacapi hot springs, whose water temperatures exceed 38°C and 40°C and are ideal for a 1-hour soak. Back in Chivay, we will head to a restaurant to enjoy a buffet lunch (not included) before continuing our journey to Puno.

Journey to Puno: High Andean Landscapes
After lunch, we will cross the Patapampa Pass (4,910 meters above sea level), also known as the Volcanoes Viewpoint, from which we can see the snow-capped Ampato, Sabancaya, and Huallca volcanoes. The tour continues to the Toccra wetlands, where we will see South American camelids such as llamas and alpacas, as well as some migratory birds. We will then arrive at the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, a habitat for vicuñas. Before reaching our final destination, we will make one last stop at the Lagunillas Lagoon, a natural refuge for high Andean birds such as flamingos and geese. Finally, we will arrive in Puno at approximately 7:00 PM.
