Day 1: Andong – The Heart of Confucian Culture
Step into Korea’s past at Hahoe Folk Village, a perfectly preserved Joseon-era village famous for its traditional thatched-roof houses, Confucian culture, and stunning riverside scenery. Walk through the village, visit the Yangjin Residence, and learn about the scholarly traditions of the Ryu family. Enjoy a live Hahoe Mask Dance performance, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, showcasing Korea’s satirical folk theater(No monday).
Visit Bongjeongsa Temple, home to Korea’s oldest wooden building, Geungnakjeon Hall. Nestled in the mountains, this serene temple offers a glimpse into ancient Buddhist architecture and spiritual traditions.
