What you can expect

Experience the magic of Kangaroo Island over 2 days on our small group Wildlife Adventure. Meet your guide in Adelaide and travel south to Cape Jervis for the 45-minute ferry crossing. The adventure begins as you get to know your guide and fellow travelers, watching the mainland fade behind you.

Arriving in Penneshaw, the first stop is Pennington Bay. Turquoise water rolls into rugged cliffs, waves crash along the shore, and the fresh sea air fills your lungs. It’s a perfect introduction to the island’s raw beauty.

A climb up Prospect Hill rewards you with sweeping views across farmland, bush, and coastline. From this vantage point, the vastness of the island is breathtaking.

At Duck Lagoon in Cygnet River, the pace slows. Wander quietly beneath the trees and spot koalas resting in the branches, while birdlife flits through the reeds. The serene setting makes it easy to pause and soak in the peace.

In Kingscote, enjoy free time to stroll the waterfront, grab a coffee, or explore local shops before heading to Kangaroo Island Brewery for lunch. Enjoy a guided beer tasting of locally crafted brews and a generous regional platter while overlooking the countryside.

Next, visit the Kangaroo Island Beehive to taste fresh honey, watch the bees at work, and learn about local honey production.

Later, unwind at Stokes Bay, a hidden gem with a sheltered lagoon framed by dramatic rocks. The water is calm, the surroundings peaceful, and you may spot dolphins gliding nearby.

From there, stop in Parndana, a charming small town to stretch your legs, pick up supplies, or enjoy a coffee with locals.

As evening falls, gather for a traditional Aussie barbecue under the stars. Tonight you’ll stay in comfortable bell tents in a tranquil setting, with private upgrades available. For the adventurous, a swag under the sky completes the experience.

Wake to fresh island air and a wholesome breakfast before heading to Flinders Chase National Park. Staying nearby allows you to arrive early, ahead of the crowds. First, explore the Remarkable Rocks, striking granite formations sculpted by wind and waves over thousands of years. Wander among them, take photos, and marvel at the unusual shapes.

Next, visit Admirals Arch, where the coastal cliffs meet the roaring surf. Walk along the boardwalk to see fur seals basking below and take in the dramatic coastline and crashing waves.

After a picnic lunch, visit the towering dunes of Little Sahara. Try sandboarding or walk through this striking landscape where golden sand meets bush.

At Seal Bay, join a ranger on the beach to observe Australian sea lions in their natural habitat. Watching them rest, play, and move through the surf is unforgettable.

Return to Penneshaw with time to relax before the ferry back to Adelaide, taking sandy shoes, new friendships, and lasting memories with you.
