What you can expect

  • On a city tour through Hannover’s Old Town, we explore the dark past of the early 20th century. Along the way, we examine the life of Fritz Haarmann, a serial killer who is well known in Germany.

Haarmann’s story reached its climax in 1924 and gained international attention when people discovered that he had killed at least 24 citizens of Hannover. ‘The Butcher of Hannover’ is only one of the many nicknames given to this cruel murderer. The Haarmann case was heavily politicized and shaped the history of Germany as a whole.
