Immerse yourself in the darkness of the night in Formentera and set off on a journey through the universe with your feet on the ground. This astronomical observation experience is designed for those who want to look at the sky with different eyes, learn to find their way around the constellations, and gaze at celestial objects through a professional telescope.
You'll start with an introductory talk of about 20 minutes, where you'll learn what will be observed that night and how to prepare to get the most out of the session. Afterwards, the group gets organized for the observation and the most exciting part begins: through the telescope, you'll be able to see, depending on conditions and visibility, the Moon, planets, and other bodies in the Solar System, as well as star clusters and distant galaxies.
As the sky unfolds above you, your live guide will help you make out ancient constellations — including references to ancestral traditions — and tell you stories from Greek mythology to understand the origin of many figures in the sky. To complete the experience, there's also an immersive component with virtual reality glasses, and together you'll take pictures of what you see through the telescope, as well as photos of the moment as a souvenir.
To maintain the quality of the observation, the use of mobile phones is not permitted during telescope viewing. You just need to wrap up warm and let yourself be carried away by a night of science, stories, and wonder under the stars.
