Perfect for travelers who want a real west coast adventure without worrying about logistics.
We start with pick-up in Santa Cruz or at a central meeting point and drive to the small village of Lajedo – the starting point of your wild west coast hike. From here, we follow the official walking trail northwards.
Along the way, you’ll enjoy ever-changing views of rugged cliffs, deep valleys and the endless blue of the Atlantic Ocean. We pass through traditional villages and “fajãs” where life moves at a slower pace.
Your guide points out the best photo spots, shares stories about life on this remote Atlantic island and adjusts the pace to the group. We take breaks in quiet places, listening only to wind, ocean and cows.
At the end of the hike, we arrive in Fajã Grande, the westernmost village of Europe. If conditions allow, you can finish the day with a refreshing swim in the natural pool of Poço do Bacalhau waterfall. Afterwards, we drive you back to your accommodation or the meeting point.
