What you can expect
The activity begins on the island of Flores with transport to the magic of the Selva Maya.
- Experience the ultimate expedition in the heart of the Mayan Biosphere
Leave the conventional behind and embark on a two-day adventure designed for those seeking adrenaline, living culture, and mystery. Your trip begins by crossing the dense tropical vegetation on two wheels. You'll pedal on a challenging mountain bike (MTB) route from Tikal under the Mayan jungle to the mystical community of Uaxactún, surrounded by the sounds of nature and the echo of howler monkeys. With a bit of luck, you'll see the jaguar.
En route, you can climb to “El Mirador de Uaxactún”, where you can see the sea of dense tropical jungle and the crests of the Mayan ruins among the forest, a marvel to delight the eyes.
- Ancestral flavors with local Mayan gastronomy
The physical effort in the jungle has the most spectacular reward: “the palate with an ancestral flavor”. You'll enjoy the local cuisine with a traditional lunch and, at dusk, a Mayan gala dinner. Authentic flavors, jungle ingredients, and legendary techniques prepared by the community itself.
You'll enjoy a tour of the centuries-old community of Uaxactún and learn about its 116-year history. This is a deeply rooted community that is 100% committed to the protection and conservation of biodiversity. You'll share in our true Mayan roots.
3.- Nocturnal Secrets and the Mayan Cosmos
When the sun goes down, the jungle wakes up. You'll go on a guided night safari with flashlights to discover the fascinating fauna and microfauna that only appear under the cover of darkness. The night will culminate magically at Grupo E, the oldest known Mayan astronomical observatory, where you'll observe a starry sky and decipher the cosmos just as the ancient astronomers did.
After a night's rest in the community and a delicious breakfast, you'll return to Isla de Flores with a unique story to tell.
